CS Event December 2014


The trust held its fifth CardiacSmart event in December 2014, to recognise those who have made outstanding contributions to raising awareness and promoting heart health across the North West

The CardiacSmart awards recognise community resilience, support innovation, celebrate achievement and are responsive to community needs.

The CardiacSmart initiative, aims to extend the coverage of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) within local communities across the North West, as well as training individuals in basic life support skills.

Mary Whyham, NWAS Chairman introduced the event, before being joined by Joanne Langton, Quality Improvement Manager. Sara Harris, Lauren Watson and Cheryl Pickstock, County Co-ordinators for the Chain of Survival team then presented the awards alongside Bob Williams, NWAS Chief Executive.

Guests included a number of cardiac arrest survivors, whose life savers were recognised with awards.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those that work with the Trust in making the North West a safer place.
